ALANA & SAM
Flowering for your friends is honestly one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things you can do in this business. Being friends with her older sisters, Dani & Kylie, I’ve known Alana since she was in primary school and have watched her grow up alongside all of us. When Kylie got married in 2020, I was honoured to create her flowers. When Dani got married later in 2020, I was so excited to be her Maid of Honour. So to now be able to flower Alana and Sam’s wedding in 2023 and round out the family that I’ve known since I was 12, how incredibly special! To make this day even more memorable, the wedding was held on Alana’s extended family’s cattle farm in Winegrove, New South Whales. A small suburb down the road from Copmanhurst, and a farm which has been in the family since the 1800’s.
Now for the flowers!
The floral vibe? Think modern country, so very romantic, lush and memorable. To achieve this we went with all the beautiful reds; red panther roses, explorer roses, nina roses, anthuriums, carnations, tulips and a touch of natives as a small tribute to Alana’s dad, Brian. For the ceremony we opted for free-standing floral pillars positively brimming with flowers, and a stunning view of the river and valley beyond. Floral gardens lined the aisle, with a lush scattering of red rose petals around the base of the gardens to continue to the colour story down the aisle. Petite bud vases and black ceramic bowl arrangements were placed throughout the clear marquee for the reception, along with the repurposed florals from the ceremony. The bouquets complimented the ceremony flowers, and Alana’s bouquet was large and lush, tying in her red lipstick and truly awesome heels!
Once the florals were done and the sun went down, we all enjoyed margaritas, drinks, canapes, dancing to the live band, fire pits and truly good times.
It’s was a celebration we were so thrilled to be part of, and one I’ll remember forever.
