ALEX & DAVE
A classic and timeless wedding at the Old Dairy, Maleny. Alex and Dave wanted their day to be elevated, elegant and full of classic white and green blooms - something we were only too happy to create with them. One of the most special things about this day was that we were able to forage a whole van load of camellia foliage from Dave’s parent’s property right here in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We love details like this as they give us lasting memories with our couples and their families, and remind us that weddings are so much more than client and provider - they are relationships we hone and refine over the planning process and then solidify as we all share in the core memory of a beautiful wedding day.
For Alex and Dave, they wanted something wow but not too over the top for the ceremony as we still wanted to have that amazing Old Dairy Maleny hinterland view. We created large and lush floral pillars full of our foraged camellia and other foliage, with layers and layers of the fluffiest seasonal blooms July had to offer, including some peonies all the way from France. The focal point in the reception area was a suspended garden / four sided hanging installation giving all of the guests a focal point no matter where they were situated in the barn. Think branching greenery and groupings of lush roses, delphinium, disbuds, tulips, carnations, stocks and other seasonal flowers.
The tables had alternating bud vases and ceramic arrangements to continue the floral story while still leaving room for shared feasting and other styling, and we had other florals scattered here and there. The bouquets were a mixture of bold seasonal blooms with plenty of texture - timeless and elegant.
