SHEREE & JASON

One of the most enjoyable destination weddings to date. Sheree and Jason tied the knot on the beach at Kingfisher Bay, followed by a night of dancing and celebrating in the resort nearby. What a total joy creating this floral concept was with Sheree (sorry Jason, but it was mostly us gals haha). From the very first moment we spoke on the phone, Sheree and I just got on so well that I knew this wedding was going to be something super special. All we knew is that she wanted her wedding flowers to be bright, bold and fun. Suitable for the beach, but not ‘beachy’, and with lots and lots of variety in a punchy palette of apricot, coral, pink, lavender and a few others in between. The ceremony was floral pillars that packed a visual punch, not blending in even remotely with the gorgeous beach landscape beyond, and floral stems ‘growing’ from the sand surrounded by colourful petals. The bouquets were a mix of seasonal bold blooms, including some of the very first coral charm peonies of the season. What a thrill that was to get those for Sheree! Working seasonally, we never promise any particular flower, so boy is it fun when we get to delivery blooms our couples aren’t expecting.

The reception was a completely eclectic mix of ceramic bowls, vases and bud vases with grouped florals to create more of an impact in the low lighting. We designed all of these on-site to ensure they flowed the best in the reception room. We finished the vases of with incredibly intricate flat-lay daisy chains, flower petals and flat-lay florals. We used delphinium, roses, garden roses, locally grown chrysanthemums, coral charm peonies, calendula, poppies, snap dragons, chamomile daisy, easter daisy, statice and many other blooms. The centrepiece of the reception was the floral meadow we created around the wedding cake (that Sheree made herself - hello Flour Pod). It was such a fun moment in the reception area.

After the ceremony, the floral pillars were relocated to the pink love seat situated outside the reception room, creating a truly floral-filled setting for guests to take photos and leave their audio messages for Sheree and Jason.

Once we were finished our floral duties for the day, myself and the ladies made our way down to the bar on the jetty and enjoyed some champagne and cocktails, watching the sun go down over the ocean. What a special memory! A wedding I’ll remember forever.
